“Smile surgery” and “Contoura Vision LASIK” are two different procedures for vision correction.

SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) surgery is a minimally invasive laser vision correction procedure that involves the creation of a small incision to remove a tissue lenticule from the cornea, reshaping it and correcting refractive errors like myopia and astigmatism.

Contoura Vision LASIK, on the other hand, is an advanced form of LASIK (Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) surgery. It utilizes topographic mapping of the cornea to guide the laser treatment, providing a personalized treatment for each individual’s unique corneal irregularities.

Among many studies done with a head-to-head comparison, contoura  vision patients are  more likely to achieve 6/5 or 6/4 visual acuity as compared to Smile operated patient.
