Treatment of corneal ulcer is started to reduce the infection and not primarily for visual improvement.
Patient may feel pain, redness and reduced vision even after starting the medication. These symptoms do not correlate with improvement or worsening of eye condition. Any improvement can only assessed by treating doctor. We advise you to be patient with the treatment.

Treatment methods:
1. Initially most patients are given medicines for treatment.

3. In case of no response to therapy, doctor can suggest keratoplasty to limit the infection. Please note that keratoplasty done in an infected eye does not improve vision and patient may need further surgeries to improve vision.
4. After a corneal ulcer vision usually does not return to its original state. There will be mild to severe reduction in vision, depending upon your eye condition.
