Just like your fingerprint is completely unique to you, Contoura Vision creates a procedure that is completely unique to your eyes.
The surface of the cornea is not perfectly smooth and contains some irregularities at microscopic level. Contoura Vision with the help of a Topolyser is able to map these irregularities using 22,000 unique data points then correct these irregularities, creating an optically perfect surface of the cornea giving you sharpness unmatched by any LASIK or
SMILE Laser eye surgery.

Blade - Free LASIK.
Epi Contoura / Streamlight Laser is a special technique of laser specs removal used in patients not eligible for Contoura Vision Lasik Surgery, especially in those having thin corneas. It is a unique laser procedure that is 100% blade-free, 100% cut-free, 100% flap free, and 100% touchless. Epi Contoura can be used to correct spectacle numbers upto 5 diopters very comfortably. However, Epi Contoura, being a very advanced technique, takes about 3-4 weeks for the vision to fully recover after the procedure. Also since the procedure is totally cut-less and flap-less, it doesn't leave any scar on the eye, and hence is not detected, even when checked on Slit laps and microscopes or other routine eye examinations. Epi Contoura has also become a preferred choice for persons involved in contact sports and persons applying for government medicals like army, navy, airforce, railways, etc.
Before your Contoura® Vision procedure, your eye doctor will perform a preliminary eye exam to determine if Contoura® Vision is right for you. Your doctor will then take the measurements needed to create an accurate map of your cornea's topography.
During the Contoura® Vision procedure, you will receive anesthetic drops to numb your ey Guided by your personalised topography profile, the laser will correct your vision by precis reshaping your cornea based on up to 22,000 elevation points.*
Because of Contoura® Vision's accuracy, your vision is likely to improve after the procedure. In fact, 92.6% of nearsighted patients achieved 20/20 vision or better, and it outperformed glasses and contacts in over 30% of eyes (vs. baseline BSCVA)*1. Up to 98.4% of patients are satisfied and said they would choose it again*
*Results from FDA T-CAT-001 clinical study for topography-guided vision correction (with the 400
Hz ALLEGRETTO WAVE® Eye-Q Excimer Laser).
*At 12 months. BSCVA is defined as Best Spectacle-Corrected Visual Acuity.
*In a subset analysis of 124 patients, 122 responded that they would have LASIK again.
Because Contoura® Vision uses topography-guided technology, it only targets the parts of your cornea that need to be corrected.' This makes it one of the most accurate and safest types of LASIK around. It has been shown to reduce visual disturbances, such as halo and glare, in patients who had worn glasses or contact lenses before having Contoura® Vision.?
The Streamlight Trans-PRK method which is often also referred to as the "No Touch PRK method, removes the surface of the cornea using the latest laser technology. This removal can be carried out highly precisely with the excimer laser, allowing the wound to heal more quickly. Following the removal of the uppermost layer of the cornea, the visual defect will be corrected with a laser. To optimally protect the eye during the healing process, you will be provided with a special contact lens for the first days after the operation, under which the cornea can regenerate as soon as possible.

Theoretically, speaking spectacle power can change at any point in a person's life time. Having said that Lasik surgery is generally only done if the glass power is stable for more than one year and there are no red flags in ocular scans. Minor fluctuations in vision after Lasik surgery can be tackled with using medicines. In case of gross changes in spectacle power, then reason for such change has to be established 1st. And then it is still possible to re-correct or retreat the residual number. This however, is very very rare and is not usually advised.
Lasik surgery has been available to people for more than four decades now. It has provided excellent visual outcomes over the last 50 years. Till date computer vision, Lasik is the most advanced form of Lasik surgery which takes into account 22,000 data points of the eye and gives an unmatched and unparalleled visual result. Undoubtedly, it is the best type of customisation in a Lasik surgery procedure, it is an FDA approved treatment.
Trans, epithelial PRK is a technique which offers a bloodless Cutless touchless surgery to the patient. It can be customised using the contoura software. It is very popular and treatment of choice for patients undergoing or taking medical exams in Army Navy, Air Force and police. The best part of this procedure is that it is completely undetectable on a normal street lamp examination and only after topography. It may be detectable. The recovery time for this procedure is around 2 to 3 weeks so bear in mind that you need to have proper rest and adequate time before your medical exam.
This is a very common question asked by patients. It is very important to note the reason why people get Lasik surgery done? LASIK surgery by the nature of it is a cosmetic procedure. so it is important that the need to have an independent and spectacle free Life has to come from the patient. Safety has nothing to do with lasik surgery. It is mostly a personal choice. Contoura vision surgery is a US FDA approved procedure and it is also approved by government of India. So question of safety does not even arise. All major actors, sportsman and pilots get the procedure done so be rest assured that if your doctor is still wearing a glass, it has nothing to do with the safety of the procedure itself.
Absolutely not. Lasik surgery is one of the safest and most commonly done cosmetic surgery in the entire world. The chances of someone going blind just by Lasik surgery alone or zero. However, bear in mind that if your surgery is complicated by an infection, then there are chances of severe visual loss. Hence we always tell our Patients not to fall for centres or doctors which promote very cheap cost for Lasik surgery because somewhere they try to do cost-cutting and do not follow proper safety and hygiene requirements. Since there is no way for a patient to know how the Centre is managing their OT complex. It is always advised to go with a reputed hospital before getting lasik surgery done. Do your homework well.
Lasik surgery is a cosmetic procedure and most of the insurers will not cover it. But many insurers do cover Lasik surgery with certain requirements like your glass power should be more than -7.5 dioptres. And the disease should not be pre-existing if you fall in this category then surely it is possible that your insurance cover the laser procedure. Corporate policies have a higher chance of approval for such treatments.
Normally, after a successful Lasik surgery, it is very very rare to have a residual glass power. Please get your eyes checked by a lasik surgeon. Persistent blurring of vision. After a successful Lasik surgery can be due to many reasons like dry eyes. Accommodation difficulties. Difficulties in adjusting to the new optical system. It may not necessarily because of residual power. Spectacles power checked at optical shops after LASIK surgery is not sufficient enough for actually calculating the glass power. Because the machines used by optical shops are calibrated for a normal, non-operated eye. So consult your doctor before jumping to conclusions. Fluctuation in glass power after Lasik surgery can mean only four things.
1.under or over correction.
2. Regression.
3. Post Lasik ectasia and
4. cataract.
Simplest way to finding out if your surgery is actually contoura vision is to check if the Centre actually has a contoura vision machine or not. Contoura machine is manufactured by Alcon laboratories, and you can visit their official site and see the list of hospitals where the machine has been installed. Alternatively, you can also ask for the laser ablation report from the hospital which cannot be duplicated and it is the exact treatment which has been done on your eyes.
The price of contoura vision lasik surgery varies from 70,000 to 1,10,000 depending upon which added technology you are using. Whether the surgery is done using a blade or a bladeless technique? We have noticed many hospitals promote contoura vision lasik surgery without even having the machine to do that. They promote contoura vision surgery and actually perform topography guided lasik (which is a generic treatment and not contoura brand). It is advised to all our patients to ask for the genuine ablation report. In case you have any doubts regarding the actual treatment.
In all our Lasik patients, we try to correct the vision beyond hundred percent that is more than 6/6. Having said that not all patients will achieve more than hundred percent. Because it is not only dependent upon the laser technology used. It is also dependent upon how your body reacts and responds to the treatment. In our experience. More than 60 to 70% patients will achieve more than hundred percent that is 6/5 or 6/4 vision after a successful contour vision surgery. We call this supervision but bear in mind that even 6/6 vision is very very good for all practical purposes.
Our optical system has three different focuses one for the distance vision, one for the intermediate vision and one for the near vision. below 40 years of age all these focal length are easily switched by our eyes and you don't feel that transition. When we do a Lasik surgery, we can only correct the vision for distance. That is driving and all day-to-day routine activities. After 40 years of age. You will still have to wear a near vision glass. Generally speaking it is not a deal breaker because you require very fine vision only after 40 years of age, and that too while using mobile phones tablets et cetera so we make you more independent of your glasses, but after 40 years of age, you will have to wear near vision glasses like all the people in the world.
